Iasi – Romania. Osteopathy course organized by O.I.A.
(Osteopathic International Academy)

1st seminar from 23  to  26 January; 2nd seminar  from  23 to 26 April  2020

Organizing Institution

The Osteopathic International Academy (O.I.A.) is an educational institute based in Sofia (Bulgaria). OIA’s mission is spreading osteopathy, specifically in countries in Eastern Europe. The Osteopath Marcello Luca Marasco¹, is O.I.A Scientific Coordinator and, for Romanian course, Director of Education:  He has twenty years of experience as osteopath and as teacher training.

O.I.A. intends to develop teaching according to international standards already indicated by the document “Benchmark for Training in Osteopathy” prepared by W.H.O. – World Health Organization (http://apps.who.int/medicinedocs/documents/s17555en/s17555en.pdf) and included in the CEN Standard. In these documents an osteopathic health profession is defined, based on clinical and scientific principles inspired by evidence. The osteopathy training provided by O.I.A. leaves no space for that type of osteopathy with much philosophy and little rational and clinical scientific reasoning. The O.I.A has an international inspiration and, therefore, offers impartial training without the prevalence of any national philosophy.

Organizator

Osteopathic International Academy (O.I.A.) este un institut de formare cu sediul in Sofia (Bulgaria) a carui misiune este raspandirea osteopatiei, in special in tarile europei de est. Rolul de Coordonator Stiintific al O.I.A. revine dlui Dr. Marcello Luca Marasco, osteopat¹, datorita experientei sale in domeniul osteopatiei si a formarii in acest sector. In Romania detine functia de Director Didactic.

O.I.A. intentioneaza sa dezvolte un complex didactic conform standardelor internationale include in documentul “Benchmark for Training in Osteopathy” (Puncte de Referinta in Pregatirea Osteopatica) redactat de W.H.O. – World Health Organisation (Organizatia Mondiala a Sanatatii) (http://apps.who.int/medicinedocs/documents/s17555en/s17555en.pdf ) si reluat in Norma CEN.

The O.I.A. school of osteopathy, Iasi, Romania

O.I.A., Osteopathic International Academy, starts a school of Osteopathy in Iasi, the historic capital of Romania, European Center of culture and international interests with its 60,000 students who attend its state universities every year. The choice of O.I.A. to Romania is motivated by evaluating this nation as a country with a strong push towards modernity, receptive to the integration of new medical sciences such as osteopathic medicine and beyond. The interest we have gained in Iasi derives from the knowledge and projects in place with two institutions. The first is the prestigious Faculty of Medicine Grigore T. Popa, (Bioengineering and Physiotherapy); the second is the “Preventis” Sports Medicine Center, whose head is its Health Director Dr. Petre Crivoi. So O.I.A. presents the first course in osteopathy in Romania that is sponsored and organized with the support and know-how of a highly experienced Italian osteopathy school, AbeOS. This training institute has signed a continuous osteopathic assistance contract with Romanian Rowing Federation for Romanian rowers. AbeOS is directed by Marcello Luca Marasco who was appointed by the O.I.A. as his scientific coordinator. The patronage with AbeOS and the double bond with Marcello Marasco means that the training course in osteopathy is designed with the high training standards required by the international standards ISO 9001, ISO 29990, EN16686.

Director Medical Dr. Petre Crivoi.
